Welcome to the Virtual Book Tour for, “A Year In Prayer With Jesus”!

We are pleased to feature Jim Hughes today!  He shares his testimony with us below:

*****

Except for my early teen years, I have always been in church.  I can still remember going to the altar nearly every Sunday convinced that I wasn’t right with the Lord.  As I look back on those years, I am so thankful that the Lord meant so much to me that I wanted to be right with Him, even then.  During my early teen years my parents quit going to church for a while, which meant that the rest of us did too.  After a couple of years the Lord used a church bus ministry to get me connected with a youth group.  It was in my senior year of high school during a Spring revival meeting that the Lord drew me to the altar once again.  It was there that I knew that I would be devoting the rest of my life in some type of Christian ministry.  During my second year of college, again during revival meetings, the Lord again took me to the altar.  It was there that He confirmed in my call into the ministry.

As I look back over the past 40 years, I am more amazed today at God’s goodness, grace and mercy than I ever was.  It is a mystery to me why and how our Lord has allowed me to be used of Him to build up the kingdom.  I am so unworthy to be called His child, let alone do what I do.  I am so thankful that the Lord is patient with me.  I am far from being who I know I could and should be in Christ, but I am growing and becoming.  I love the Lord today more than I ever thought possible and I am anxiously awaiting that day in which He will call me home.  Until that day comes, I am determined to do my best to honor and glorify Him in all that I do.
