So, we are nearing the end of January 2022. How does it feel?! If that question made you think of the movie: Princess Bride, you are on the right track! From the terrible prince of the kingdom to the terrible doctor/researcher, heck even the rough ocean scene fits the bill I’m sure. As I look back over the blog posts that got the most attention over 2021, there are some interesting themes that surface. People are looking for help, reassurance, and guidance. I pray that as they read these blog posts this past year, that they found what they were looking for.

The last set of stats for this post DO have some surprises in them! I left Twitter in January, and Facebook in February. Secondly, for everyone’s talk about how mobile is the way to go and how blogs MUST be mobile-friendly or people won’t visit, I had a whopping 14 visitors via various Android apps. No IOS apps are mentioned here, only Android. I am still over at LinkedIn, but you can tell how popular my posts are over there. Eventually I’m expecting to be censored with the various anti-pandemic information I share from time to time. I am not familiar with wimkin, but someone followed a link through them to one of my posts this past year. I’m also not familiar with usa.life, but they sent two visitors to my site this past year as well. The most surprising stat in this list however, is probably the search done by someone in China on Bing! I don’t know if they got through to my site or not, but that was an entry to raise an eyebrow. 27 people found my content via duckduckgo!!! Yaaa! If you are an author and reading this post, you CAN get traffic to your website from your Amazon author page! My Amazon author page sent me 4 visitors last year! And lastly, even though I can’t be there myself because they won’t accept VOIP cellphone numbers, Telegram is one of the Android apps sending me visitors! Thank you to whoever is sharing my content over there!

You don’t always know who you are reaching with your content! You don’t always know the impact you are having on those you are reaching either. These stats were provided courtesy of Jetpack for WordPress, via their wordpress.com login that I attached my self-hosted blog to. Jetpack tries to keep it’s data to single-user hit only! So if the same person came back several times, they might not get counted if it was to the same content.
I pray this coming year is more manageable for my readers, that they will find their encouragement in the pages of Scripture and the songs God gives others to write and sing. I pray that things I am led to write over the coming year will be useful in some way to those who need what God has impressed on me to write. We have begun a new year. May God grant us the wisdom, insight, foresight, understanding and discernment to use our time, effort, and resources the best way possible not only for our own benefit, but the benefit of those around us as well.
